Gourd 3

This is a canteen gourd the back of the one on my first page. Hand painted and a original design. It has a 11 1/2" diameter and it varies from 5" to 5 1/2'' high. The entrance hole is 1 1/4" and the gourd hangs from a leather strap. I grew this one in my greenhouse and dried outside in the Winter.

This is an apple gourd with a 1 1/4" entrance hole and it hangs with a copper wire from the top. I have painted rose buds, roses and daisies around the whole gourd. The top portion of the gourd has not been painted and when varnished the mottling of the gourd shows interesting patterns. The gourd measures 8 1/2" high by 6 3/4" wide. A original design.

These gourds have been purchased, I can paint similar ones the size will vary according to the shape of the gourd.

My Gourds are painted one at a time by me and are sealed with several coats of outdoor sealer. They may be used by birds or as a decorative accent in your home. The stem is not included in the measurements.
